Look of the day - Cream and bronze

I have been looking for something teal or turquoise in the form of shoes or a blouse or a pretty dress and i just cant find anything i like which is super sad. Well except for this stunning turquoise blouse from American apparel but sorry i am not going to pay 66euros for a blouse...

I decided instead to do a really bright eye and some blue nails to make myself feel better! I haven't done bright makeup in ages! I actually haven't done a lot of makeup because i just feel my face is looking tired and ugh. I seriously need to drink more water and hopefully that will happen with summer on the way.

Pretty spring nails

My favorite spring nail polish color i have been wearing a lot has been Jessica nail polish in coral. Its just such a happy spring color! I would love to get a lighter version even to the peachy side like the Priti NYC September charm one because as soon as i start getting a bit of a tan the light peach will look amazing! You can see that more of my favorite colors for spring in the picture above!

Look of the day - Floral in the air

I am back with another outfit post sweeties! :) I felt so sad because i didn't do an outfit post yesterday. Its strange, it was one of those days where no matter what you put on you don't like it so i ended up staying in my pj's! Today however i had my mojo back and i obviously should call this blog 101 ways to wear my pink h&m jacket because i seem to have it on all the time! It is one of those glorious items of clothing that fits with almost everything in my cupboards and it is the perfect spring jacket. Light color and just enough heat for when you walk in the shade :P

They have predicted rain and thunderstorms for today and i can see how the weather would suddenly turn but thankfully when i was taking photos it was still very much hot and perfect! I started having smoothies for breakfast with two spoons of USN ultra lean diet fuel as well as some fruit for lunch with some diet fuel mixed with juice. I need to tone up as summer is on its way and i also need to do a bit of a detox. I think i will do this for a month and see how it goes. I also work out for 30min which isn't as much as i would like but ok for now. The diet fuel is really good for you and contains a whole lot of nutrients etc. I mix it with ice, multivitamin juice, frozen raspberries, water and a banana and it makes the most amazing tasting smoothie and it keeps me full till lunch as well which my breakfast never did.

Monday Inspiration

I love the skirt in the top photo, its something i can really see myself wearing alot and it is just soooo pretty who wouldnt want it! If anyone knows where i can find a similar one do tell. I really should not be buying anymore skirts or shorts or anything like that though as i have plenty, i should start buying tops as i can never find any to wear! :P

SMILE :) Its always good to be happy and grateful. I dont like being sad or angry and smiling makes you feel happy!

I have never tried macarons and i am not sure if i would like them but they just look so cute dont they? They also seem to make perfect photo props... Maybe i should just buy fake ones?:P

I love this outfit and setup and little heart bag, i wish i could have a million different setups to take photos in. It would be heaven for outfit posts!

Recipe - Red Velvet Cupcakes

So I decided to make red velvet cupcakes for y treat this weekend mostly because I have never made them before but I have heard so much about them! I was disappointed though that mine wasn’t bright red but now I know for next time to use really concentrated food coloring. I also get annoyed by Malta sometimes as they don’t always have everything in the shops here that I need, especially my local grocery store. I couldn’t find buttermilk and they had no decent unsalted butter or royal icing sugar or cream cheese for that matter.

They still tasted amazing but next time I will be going to some different stores to see if I can find all the ingredients.
I made up the raspberry icing on the spot because I had frozen ones I use for smoothies and it tastes divine! Like sherbet. Hmmmm :)

Ingredients:

For the cake:
2½ cups cake flour
1½ cups sugar (caster sugar if you have)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. cocoa powder
1 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup buttermilk (I substituted this with normal milk)
2 tbsp. liquid red food coloring
1 tsp. vanilla essence
1 tsp. white vinegar

Vanilla icing:
Royal icing sugar
Vanilla essence
Unsalted butter
Raspberry icing:
Royal icing sugar
Unsalted butter
Frozen or fresh raspberries

Directions:

Pre heat oven to 180. Line cupcake pans with liners (I used pink!)
Combine the cake flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa powder and salt and whisk. In another bowl, combine the eggs, vegetable oil, milk, food coloring, vanilla and vinegar and whisk together. Add the dry ingredients and whisk till smooth.

Divide evenly in liners and bake in the oven for about 15-20 min. To test if they are ready prick with a toothpick and if it comes out clean it is done.

For the vanilla icing just mix together icing sugar butter and vanilla essence, for the raspberry pulp the berries and add to the vanilla icing.

Epic amount of photos for you today! This morning we did the outfit shoots and i did a superman themed one with my boyfriend as i love being creative and behind the camera as well and then later we went for a walk and out for lunch!

It was a really awesome day and people were out and about swimming and tanning. We are also on summer time now which always makes me happy but makes me a bit confused at first! Like starting dinner later than usual tonight!

We went to the mall yesterday and i bought some stunning new look coral wedges and the sunnies i am wearing, they are so cool and retro! Excuse all the cheesy outside photos, for some reason as soon as i get infront of lots of people i revert to being silly in my photos and not relaxed and normal. I really need to work on that!

Look of the day - Frills galore

I haven't had a chance to wear my frilly jacket from primark which i adore because the weather just hasn't been right but today when i saw blue skies again i quickly pulled it out of the dark closet where it was more than likely very sad!!

I teamed it up with an equally frilly skirt because i just love feeling girly when the sun is shining! I think the tourists lying in the sun on the roof of the hotel opposite of us must have thought i was mad though because before we took the photos i was hanging up the washing in my pretty outfit! I hope they will go home and tell everyone Malta has the most stylish people hanging washing :P

We also enjoyed our lunch up on the roof and it was so good as it tasted like mini pizzas. I toasted bread and put some leftover buffalo sauce on it as well as tomato onion cheddar mozzarella and oregano and then i put it under the grill. Hmmmmmm

Random Photos Friday

Some more random photos taken this week but this time they are all instagram iphone photos. I quite like this little app and my boyfriend is addicted to it which is good for me!

The 22 photo is one my boyfriend sent to me because its our special number (we started going out on the 22 October 2002) and we have an obsession with clocks showing the time 22:22! Me typing on my laptop, like always! I dont know what i would do without internet :P

Yesterdays outfit post and i had to get a photo of me holding the camera because i was also taking photos for a change! Just a pic of my man at the pub, we have matching glasses :P

I am so happy its friday today and the weather is amazing! Going to the pub for Friday drinks after work and then out for yummy dinner!

Sweet treats

I feel like making (and definitely eating) something sweet this weekend. It is my nieces third birthday on Sunday and i am sure the whole family will be eating yummy cake and cupcakes so i will just celebrate from this side :)

Can anyone give me ideas on what i should make? I am so stuck and i am craving everything from cupcakes to chocolate chip cookies! I also thought it would be a good idea to do a step by step post about whatever i will be making.

Look of the day - Summer Brights

Its a perfect day and i decided to celebrate with a bright happy outfit and some photos outside! You cant really see my nails but to match my pretty skirt with orange (such a fab color for summer!) flowers i dug out my very old bottle of orange revlon nail polish. I am pretty sure it is vintage or something as the packaging looks super old and i cant remember where i got it from. They amazing thing is it still works better than any of my other polishes. It dries super fast and glides on!

Dont you just love nice weather and how it can lift your mood?
